The Life insurer returns to the original home at Geminia Insurance Plaza with a new Strategy, and a future to boot!

23rd May 2022, Nairobi: Geminia Life Insurance company relocated its headquarters from Le Mac, Church road to Geminia Insurance Plaza, Upper Hill on May 17, 2022. The move marks the last phase of the demerger exercise which was occasioned by regulatory changes and has seen most players in the sector demerge their General Insurance and Life Insurance businesses.

“We are so grateful to our General Insurance sibling for holding our hand as we set out to offer a new perspective for life insurance customers. This relocation is meant to provide the Life Company with adequate space to serve the growing number of customers as well give our company space grow,” noted the Managing Director, Dr. Peter Gichuru.

The move is also guided by the company’s new Strategic Plan 2022- 2024,  which focuses on customer experience, sustainable growth and Digitalization.

Speaking when the Board of Directors visited the new offices, the board chairman, Mr. David Maina said, “We have been working on demerging since the regulator defined the requirement. The process has been long and tedious, but we are finally in our new home. Now, we are set to continue to deliver on our promise to our customers and to build a valuable and loved brand.”

Geminia Life Insurance started in 1992 as a department within the composite Geminia Insurance that had been in operations from 1982. The company demerged to form the Geminia Life Insurance and Geminia General Insurance Company. The general business is still headquartered at Le Mac, Church Road, where the two companies’ head offices were based before the relocation.

Geminia life boasts of an asset base of over Kes 3 billion and is now set to continue its drive into a future that places the customer at the center of its operations.
